Frequently Asked Questions

Typically projects are based on an hourly rate or a flat rate price per project. Every project is different in its scope and each client is different in their goals. For this reason, I quote each project after an initial exploratory meeting to be sure we are meeting your needs and budget.

There are many variables at play when it comes to an interior design project. Our goal is to always meet your desired timeline, however, schedules, contractors, supply availability, and your efficiency in making decisions throughout the project can all affect the timeline.

Because each project is different in both size and scope, we’ll take it all into consideration as we develop a schedule to keep your project moving forward and completed in a timely manner.

Delivery of goods are highly dependent on the chain of supply and shipping schedules. Within my design process I stay aware of the ever changing delivery times, having decisions made and orders placed in order for your project to stay on schedule.

Depending on the scope of your project, I can help guide you towards a design and selections that will fit within most any budget.

Yes, I do travel to projects. Typically these expenses are built into the project’s budget or are covered by the client.

The design process involves multiple stages, ensuring that we are moving in the right direction and a final product that you are happy with. The process is also dynamic, meaning that certain elements can change as we move along. Good communication with your designer throughout the project is vital.

I have many trades and vendors that I repeatedly use because I know the quality of their work and have developed a great working relationship which I highly value.

I do work with new vendors/trades all of the time on projects and enjoy meeting and working with new people and finding new products that further broaden my “pocket of tools” to give you the best design.

“Melanie has a good eye for design; she can take a house and turn it into the home of your dreams while accommodating any style or financial constraints. Specifically, she worked with me to pick out wallpaper, furniture, lighting, and decor for my investment property, which helped me obtain the look and feel I wanted.

She is a wonderful person, and I highly recommend her to anyone in need of an interior update or overhaul.”
